Smile Makeover

Enhancing the smile's aesthetic appearance can lead to increased self-confidence, improved social skills, and even a more positive outlook on life. Modern cosmetic dentistry merges advanced technology with fine art, and can often produce amazing results in less time than you would expect.

Teeth Whitening

In today's world your smile is important. It's one of the first things people notice when they meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful — it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression, it can help you in your professional and personal life.

Lifestyle, aging process and many other factors can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking. Some medications, such as tetracycline are also known to stain teeth.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best. There are many non-professional procedures and products available over-the-counter and on the Internet today. They are relatively inexpensive, but often can lead to unsatisfactory results. What you should look for is a whitening procedure that is:

  • Safe and effective
  • Fast and convenient
  • Long lasting
  • Performed by a Dental Professional

We offer multiple whitening systems. Each individual is unique; that's why we want to offer you a choice in whitening that best suits your needs. Dr. Kinga will consult with you which whitening procedure would be most effective for you.

Take Home Whitening

Our Take Home whitening system allow you to whiten your teeth at your convenience — in a customized, effective, and safe way. It works well because everything about it is customized. That means it is fit to you — your smile and your lifestyle.

The process involves creating customized bleaching trays (in contrast with one-size-fits-all trays available over-the-counter). Dr. Kinga takes impressions of your teeth and then creates a customized tray that perfectly fits your mouth. . In addition to these trays, Dr. Kinga will send you home with syringes of whitening gel.

Opalescence Take Home Whitening kits contain prescription strength formula and can provide results after just one night, though expect to see results in about a week. Trays need to be worn for couple of hours daily, and will not interfere with your life.

Dr. Kinga will supervise your treatment from initial consultation through completion. Your custom trays will keep the whitening solution on the surface of the tooth to be whitened, and prevent exposure of the solution to the sensitive gingival area. Take Home Whitening is a safe way to obtain those pearly whites you have always wanted.

In-Office Whitening

For In-Office bleaching also known as chairside bleaching, Dr. Kinga will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield to protect the oral soft tissues. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth, and a special light may or may not be used to enhance the action of the agent. Your whitening process may take from 30 minutes to one hour.

Dental bonding is a procedure in which tooth-colored resin material is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately "bonds" the material to the tooth to restore or improve your smile.

For what conditions might dental bonding be considered?

Dental bonding is an option that can be considered:

  • to repair decayed teeth (composite resins are used to fill cavities)
  • to repair chipped or cracked teeth
  • to improve the appearance of discolored teeth
  • to close spaces between teeth
  • to make teeth look longer
  • to change the shape of teeth
  • as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings
  • to protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed when gums recede

What are the advantages and disadvantages of bonding?

Bonding is among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike veneers and crowns, which are customized tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a laboratory, bonding usually can be done in one office visit unless several teeth are involved. Another advantage, compared with veneers and crowns, is that the least amount of tooth enamel is removed.

Although the material used in dental bonding is somewhat stain-resistant, it does not resist stains as well as crowns or veneers. Another disadvantage is that the bonding materials do not last as long and are not as strong as other restorative procedures, such as crowns or veneers.

Dental veneers (sometimes called dental porcelain laminates) are ultra-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance or to repair damage.

Porcelain veneers are made of ceramic material by a dental laboratory based on a model provided by Dr. Kinga. They are bonded to the front of the teeth to change their color, shape, size or length.

For what conditions might dental veneers be considered?

Dental veneers provide an option that can be considered:

  1. to repair chipped or cracked teeth
  2. to improve the appearance of discolored teeth
  3. to close spaces between teeth
  4. to restore unevenly worn teeth
  5. to make teeth look longer
  6. to change the shape of teeth

What are the advantages and disadvantages of veneers?

Veneers offer a conservative approach to changing the color and shape of a tooth. They require less tooth structure removal than crowns and last longer than cosmetic bonding.

Porcelain veneers are stain resistant, provide a more natural tooth appearance, and can last from ten to fifteen years. There is no need for additional maintenance, other than proper brushing and flossing on a daily basis.

Veneer cost is much higher than composite resin bonding. Veneers are not as strong as crowns; they can chip or crack more easily. They cannot be used for teeth with extensive structural damage. Veneers are not recommended for individuals with active periodontal disease, weakened teeth, or for teeth that have an inadequate amount of existing enamel on the tooth surface. Teeth grinding or clenching can cause the veneers to crack or chip so this procedure should not be used if a patient is affected with bruxism.

White Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings are a safer and more attractive alternative to older silver amalgam fillings. By precisely matching tooth-colored composite fillings with the natural color of your teeth, Dr. Kinga is able to provide you with white fillings that are virtually invisible. The removal of amalgam fillings and replacing them with white fillings can create for you a more pleasing, silver-free smile.

What are white fillings?

White fillings are made of composite resin and serve to fill cavities just like silver amalgam fillings. However, white fillings are matched to the color of your teeth and are virtually invisible. Tooth-colored fillings have become more popular over the years. As the availability of white fillings has increased and the possible dangers associated with mercury containing amalgam fillings have been publicized, more and more patients are having their cavities filled with beautifully white, tooth-colored fillings.

Removing and replacing old metal fillings

Many patients opt for the removal of their amalgam fillings as well. These patients want to enhance their appearance by ridding their mouths of unsightly silver fillings and replacing them with tooth-colored composite fillings. This simple procedure is an easy way to make a big difference in your smile.

We are very proud to be a mercury-free practice.

The Traditional Veneer Process (Proceed at Your Own Risk)

Traditional veneers are sometimes referred to as crowns or caps. These porcelain sleeves are placed over teeth through a process that can demand extensive and irreversible cutting away of healthy tooth structure. This can require multiple painful shots and many visits to the dentist with long appointments.

Once teeth have been cut away, temporary crowns are placed on the teeth while the traditional veneers are made, which can take months. The temporaries are then removed, potentially requiring shots again, and the permanent veneers are placed. Sometimes additional appointments are required to ensure that bite is correct.

Not Veneers, LUMINEERS

In contrast to traditional veneers, LUMINEERS don't require shots or drilling of sensitive tooth structure, and that means no pain. That's because LUMINEERS are ultra-thin so they can be applied seamlessly over your existing teeth in only two easy visits to your dentist.

A Revolution in Cosmetic Dentistry - Clear Correct Invisible Braces

Invisible Braces

In the past, the only option for people who required intensive teeth straightening was to have regular braces placed on their teeth. Sometimes people would opt to live with crooked teeth because of the many drawbacks of this procedure. Braces can be rather uncomfortable, even painful when they're tightened and they must remain in place until treatment is completed. In some cases this can last for years. Now there is an option available to you that may change your mind about getting braces.

With ClearCorrect, Dr. Kinga can straighten your teeth using a series of clear, custom, removable aligners. Each aligner moves your teeth just a little bit at a time until you eventually get straight teeth.

You and Dr. Kinga will evaluate your teeth and talk about any problems or goals you have for your smile. Once you and Dr. Kinga establish ClearCorrect is the right treatment option for you, we will take impressions, photos, and x-rays of your teeth that ClearCorrect uses in manufacturing your custom aligners.

Why ClearCorrect?

You deserve a smile you can be proud of, and ClearCorrect can make it happen. Aligners are comfortable, removable, and, best of all, nearly invisible. Most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing them. And because you can easily remove the aligners to eat, you don’t have to change your diet like you might with braces. You can show off your smile with almost no impact on your daily life. Some severe cases of misalignment do require metal braces, but most patients can be treated just as effectively with clear aligners. The cost of ClearCorrect is significantly lower than that if it’s well known competitor. Why wouldn’t you choose ClearCorrect?

Invisible BracesHow does it work?

We will take impressions, x-rays, and photos of your teeth, then send them to ClearCorrect with instructions for the tooth movements you need to achieve your ideal smile. A 3D model of your mouth will be created and then a series of clear plastic aligners custom-fitted to your teeth. Each aligner will apply targeted pressure to the teeth selected by Dr. Kinga, slowly moving them into alignment. Every six weeks or so, we will check on your progress and give you your next two sets of aligners. Unlike other clear aligner companies, ClearCorrect aligners are manufactured in phases, so Dr. Kinga can request changes at any time. Treatment usually takes 6â€"18 months, but you’ll start to see results almost right away.

Dr. Kinga can not only provide your ClearCorrect invisible braces but also the regular dental maintenance that your teeth require and advise you about cosmetic dentistry techniques to make your teeth look better. Talk to her if you have questions about tooth whitening, straightening or other cosmetic dental procedures.
